Why bother checking? It was just another straw man that was going to be kicked apart, anyway. It's not like it was a real argument.
It fit his narrative so we went with it and put it on his site. It's probably no big deal to him - the fact that it hasn't been known as that since 1996 is just a small bug. Embarrassing.
