A Gun That Offered No Protection

Today, I'm wondering if Trisha Nelson knew that when she bought her gun and got her conceal carry permit that she would up being shot with it.

He had served his sentence and was on probation when he shot Nelson. He most likely used Nelson’s gun, for which she had a concealed-carry permit, Padden said.

Having a gun increase, not decreases, your chances of being shot.

That's why cops shoot so many people: they're deathly afraid that suspects will rush them and take their weapon away. That's why the cop who shot Michael Brown in Ferguson got off.

I don't mean to minimize the cops' fears about being shot by their own guns: it's a legitimate concern. But it also means that cops think they have to shoot first and ask questions later.

If only people had guns that were personalized to them, guns that only the legitimate owner could fire...
