Only A Matter Of Time

Take a look at these two videos below. The first one is Fox's sad attempt to air a "Daily Report" type show but skewed to conservativer humour. Originally, I had planned on my first column about Barack Obama being my last in a series on the 2008 Presidential hopefuls but I really couldn't wait to get this up. What absolutely slays me about this is the video that they show over the voice over "everywhere people are going crazy for Barack Obama." It's news footage from a rally in Africa, not the United States, and one in which Senator Obama was not even in attendance. The subtext here is staggering. Talk about pandering. Fox is basically saying, "Look at the nutty savages jumping around for Obama. They's crazy, massuh!"

The second video is a story on Rush Limbaugh calling Halle Barry and Barack Obama a "Halfrican American."

So much for conservatives being racially sensitive.

...markadelphia & joe-anonymous both look at an apple. Joe sees an apple. Markadelphia sees a racist right wing conspiracy to destroy America’s next President.

…not sure why they’d choose that particular group of chanting people over the dancing/chanting liberals at any Obama-mania rally, but I’m sure there’s a sinister reason for it.

Thanks for the clip, though. Very, very funny. I can see I’ll need to start watching Fox News.

Yep, Mark, Keith Olberman (my new love God) ran a story about this the other night on Countdown. Rush Limbaugh...you can tell...he just really wants to call Obama a nigger. He's just frothing at the mouth to do it...

Hey Joe,

There is no conspiracy about it. It's pretty obvious what Fox News is doing. Whenever I watch it or the local Fox 9 for that matter I always see a story about a black man who committed a crime.

They know who their audience is and how they view Obama. Hey MC, I think the "rally of savages" video is from Niger after Mamadou Tandja won a recent election. Not 100 percent sure but I think I saw the same thing on TV when I was in Africa last year.

What if a black man did commit a crime? Can and/or should they report it?

How do I view Obama? ...just curious to see if you can read all conservatives' thoughts.

I just viewed them......and laughed hysterically...thanks for the Monday giggle. *BO Magazine!*
LOL

"Rush Limbaugh...you can tell...he just really wants to call Obama a nigger"

is dead on right, vheights. I'm willing to take my lumps for Democrats throughtout time being racist-there have been many-but Republicans, like they do with just about everything else, lie, deny, and pretend it isn't true.

Rush and others like him in the Republican Party see black men as good to carry golf bags, shine shoes, or serve drinks at the country club.

...quick, quick...what am I thinking now? OK...how 'bout now? Impress us all with your mind-reading abilities.

Joe, give it up. There is absolutely nothing you can say in this thread that will convince them that you aren’t a racist.

Having best friends for the last 16 years who are Hispanic (along with proof) won’t help you. Facts don’t matter and it doesn’t matter if they have met you or not.

Don’t bother with charges of hypocrisy either. Never mind that Ruth Bader Ginsburg had opined that an imbalance in the racial composition of an employer’s work force justified court-ordered quotas even in the absence of any intentional discrimination on the part of the employer. Then it was discovered that while operating her own office for over a decade in a city that was majority-black, this nominee had never had a single black person among her more than 50 hires. You’ll just be accused of "changing the subject". Notice how they seem to want us to answer to Rush while at the same time they run away from the lefty nutjobs vandalizing ROTC headquarters. Nice double standard.

Remember – they’re "frustrated" again...and frustration provides them a license to do things like throw charges of racism around while getting all worked up over some show on TV.

Just think – all we have to do is get Rush to stop saying that phrase and get Fox News off the air and that will be a step in the right direction as far as lowering that 70% illegitimacy rate among black babies, the high school dropout rate among black youth will fall, and that statistic about more young black men being in some phase of the penal system than in college will be a thing of the past. (Before you all fire back with your knee-jerk reaction...the things mentioned in this paragraph are straight out of a book called "Enough" written by Juan Williams, a mostly left-of-center black gentleman who is a news analyst for NPR and Fox).

Just because you are friends with Hispanic people doesn't give you clearance of being "racist free."

Based on your posts, joe, I have no idea whether or not you are racist. I do think, though, that you have to take a look at the type of audience was making their little show for...markadelphia is correct....the idea behind showing the video of the Africans was meant to potray Obama as "friend of all these crazy savages so look at how different he is."

Last, I have no problem admitting how racist my side has been throughout history. They have been. My mother in law is a lifelong Democrat and uses the n word all the time. YOU are the one that has a problem admitting when your side is racist. What's sad is not just that conservatives are racist but that they deny it so vehementally.

Instead of bitching about it on a blog, perhaps one of you should call Rush's show. You have that option.

I'm sure there are racist people on my side of the aisle. Just don't deny that there are libtards out there who are throwing rocks at members of our military and vandalizing military recruitment efforts. Do I think those nutjobs speak for you? No I don't. Perhaps you should extend the same courtesy toward conservatives.

Judging from "De Plane, De Plane", "Understand my frustration now" and "Only a matter of time" (the last few entries on the blog), it's quite clear who is "worked up in a lather" on here (he projects the fact that he is worked up onto others). It was good to see The Thread Assassin (PL) at work in the "Understand" entry.

HMHC,

Thread assassin? Not sure I like that. I don't like the idea of killing anything....except for small puppies, women, and non-whites, of course. I am a conservative, after all.

I almost went ahead and listed the non-whites...which would have been funny to me. But I decided not to overtly offend the more delicate half of the audience. I'm such a weak man.

I don't care what you think - to me, your new nickname on here is the Thread Assassin. People flame me all over the place on here but they rarely respond to you and if they do, the response is fairly timid.

Hey, feel lucky I didn't give you the name Pickle Fucker.

I have two theories on lack of responses:

1) I'm more soft and cuddly than you are, so people go easier on me.

2) My nonsensical ravings aren't intelligent enough therefore aren't worthy of a response.

You and I are the ones that spend most of the time responding to nonsensical ravings, so #2 could be it. I like to think it's #1, though.

Who are you kidding, PL? You don't have a soft or cuddly bone in your body.
