Whither the Good News?

WCCO has an interesting story on their web site today about where all the good news in Iraq is being reported or not reported. Check it out.

The most interesting thing I found was the percentages: 25 percent negative, 20 percent positive, 35 percent neutral, and 20 percent too diverse to categorize. So, all the lather that neocons have themselves worked up for is for a measley 25 percent? Maybe they should stop watching the "liberal" media channels so much and seek out alternative news sources.

Actually, it was a good day today.

The DOW hit an all time high.

The supreme court thankfully refused to give a smokers widow $79.5 million dollars from Phillip Morris.

John Edwards said the biggest threat to world peace is Israel.

The story about a shooting in a Utah mall has been buried. Is that because the shooter is muslim? Any of you media experts care to inform me why the media isn't taking a closer look at the suspect and informing us what his motives were?

Britney is still bald.

What a great day to be an American.

Odd that Edwards thinks that Israel is the biggest threat to world peace.

Consider this:

and Keith Ellison in our own House of Reps....hmmm...could be on to something here..

Correct me if I'm not understanding, but the survey covers news stories up through 2005. Certainly there was a much different attitude to the war up to and including 2005 than there is today. Most notably, during the first year or two, when what you predominantly saw was a positive bent. That fact right there largely invalidates the numbers, in my opinion.

If you were interested in being fair (and I'll leave you to answer that question) I think your posting needs to be corrected to talk about news that "was previously reported" and not "is being reported". Do you believe that numbers today, reviewing stories that have been aired during '06 and so far in '07, would be comparable? If so, I think you're clearly dreaming.

I would be interested to see a report for 2006. But bear in mind that things got worse in Iraq in 2006 so that should be figured in as well.

Also in the equation should be Fox News (#1 News Channel for 2006), Rush Limbaugh (#1 radio host) and the multitude of right wing media out there. If they are measuring just CNN and MSNBC, then there is a problem.
