Big Things President Obama Did in 2014

Despite having to deal with the adolescents in Congress, the president accomplished some big things in 2014. Among them...

  • Sweeping changes to immigration enforcement
  • Actual progress on climate change
  • Remaking the federal courts for a generation
  • Beginning to transform U.S. relationships with Iran and Cuba
  • Greater protections for federal contractors

Hmm...must be why his approval ratings are on the rise...actually doing something and solving problems as opposed to stomping your feet and foaming at the mouth about wacky, ideological nonsense seems to be a better path.

Will the new Congress (controlled entirely by the GOP) follow suit?

I'm surprised you aren't shitting your pants at the thought of the Congress actually passing legislation - since it won't be what you and the Obamessiah want.

Elections have consequences, remember?

Sweeping changes to immigration enforcement

Unilaterally and without the consent of congress....

Actual progress on climate change

Bwahhahhahha!

Remaking the federal courts for a generation

Ahhh, your partisanship rears it's head with nary a 'by your leave, I shall do that which I regularly complain about you doing'.

Beginning to transform U.S. relationships with Iran and Cuba

So, why do sanctions 'work' when O uses them against Russia, but don't 'work' when used against Cuba?

.must be why his approval ratings are on the rise

LOL. Get back to us when they are actually something other than 'slightly less worse than before'.

I wonder, as with juris, what you shall say if the GOP starts 'doing something' and solving problems in their manner - which would be done in contravention of your own brand of wacky, ideological nonsense?

The way I see it, gentlemen, is that conservatives have a choice (and I have said this many times previously). They can either compromise and solve problems-something folks like me would support. Or they can stomp their feet, act like babies, and try to pass laws that you guys would support (see: wacky, ideological nonsense) and alienate the majority of Americans. The president's veto will then seem much different now, won't it? If they choose the latter, that pretty much seals the deal for Democrats in 2016-again, something I would very much be in favor of as well.

Given both of your previous protestations over Republicans, I suspect that neither one of you will be very happy with either choice..which explains the adolescent taunting:)

Not everything you think is "a problem" actually is, and even to the extent that it might be does not mean that more laws/regulations/govt-spending are the answer. Yet that always seems to be your and the Dem/liberal response.

If you could see that, then yes, it would be entirely possible to talk about compromises. Absent that, I don't give a fuck about most of what you feel are problems let alone the alleged solutions.

Ooo...the "feel" taunt...scawee:)

Could either of you give me some examples of what the GOP is going to pass that I will be against and all upset about?

Soooooo,

If the GOP tries to pass laws to 'solve problems' and YOUR team doesn't like them (see:wacky ideological nonsense) does your team compromise or do they stomp their feet and act like babies....

Can you not see yourself in the mirror?

Oh, I don't know, could you give me some examples of anything you consider 'wacky ideological nonsense'?

Uh, GD? Our team compromises. That's what the ACA was:)

Sadly, I see, though, that you haven't changed much when we engage which is why it's pointless for the most part. I call bullshit on your accusation. You can't even back it up...once again answering questions with questions. It's good to know I haven't missed much in comments.

Of course, your BS makes sense when one considers just how awful the prospect of Republican leaders..establishment Republican leaders...giving in on the things you really don't want them to give in on...I wonder what you will do when they do that...

Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha That's a good one. Got any other jokes, Marksie?

GuardDuck said...

Really?

You are claiming that a law passed ENTIRELY along a party line vote was a compromise?

You keep using that word, I don't think it means what you think it means....

The question is legit Mark. I can't answer what YOU will or won't like.

Sort of true - it was a compromise within the Dem Party. You might recall that they didn't ask for Republican input, because elections have consequences.

I don't have much hope that the Repubs will actually rein in spending - oh, they might cut the growth some here or there - but if they did, particularly in some social program you and your party would oppose it and demand that all spending cuts come from defense.

You and Nancy Pelosi - "there is nothing left to cut".

I bet you can't actually look in the mirror. I mean, if you can, you have some serious mental health issues.
