Bad Samaritans

Do you know who are the most evil people on the planet? The most vile, scum sucking piles of vermin ever ? The largest incompetent collection of assholes currently holding public office?

THE DEMOCRATS.

Yes, that's right folks, I said it. The Democrats are the biggest bunch of criminals I have ever seen.

No, you haven't entered an alternated reality in which Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt stayed together, Star Trek is still on TV, and Mark is a Republican. I still despise what the conservatives have done to our country in the last five years and always will. This week, however, I thought I would take a look at what the Democrats have done to combat this rise in corruption and systematic destruction of our country. Here is what they have done:

And that just about sums it up. The Democrats have stood idly by while the worst government in the history of our country has set us on a path that can only end with heartache, pain, and destruction. They have allowed these incompetent, psychotic cretins to run rampant...tearing away any vestiges of the Constitution and this great Republic of ours. In my mind, the Democrats are just as guilty as the Republicans.

Why? Has anyone out there heard of the good samaritan laws that many states have on the books? In case you don't know, basically the law is if Steve is witnessing Joe beat up Jim and does nothing, then Steve can go to prison for failure to assist Jim. So, in my mind, the Democrats are Steve, the Republicans are Joe, and we are all Jim (and have been for the last five years).

My mind and heart are sick about this callous group of ineffective nincompoops (left) that deign to call themselves minority "leaders." The sad thing is that they aren't even followers, with the possible exception of Joe Lieberman (who was last seen gently tonguing Dick Cheney's taint). The Democrats today are bystanders...content to wait out the problems we are currently having in the hopes of voter backlash bringing power back to their side of the table. They moan on and on about having a "plan" but, really, their "plan" is a bunch of rhetoric that says:

Hi. I am a pussy. I don't have the balls to stand up to the biggest group of shitbags to ever run this country. Instead, I am going to make some noise over here that sounds vaguely like a cross between a bowl ringer and a silent-but-deadly...slightly loud and yet strangely quiet....almost unheard.

And, of course, if any Democrat like Russ Feingold or Paul Hackett starts to actually show some balls for once......well, they are made to look like fools. Make no mistake about it: Chuck Schumer, Hillary Clinton, and Harry Reid are just like George Bush, Dick Cheney, and Denny Hastert....they are using their power to manipulate us and gain more power.

Well, there I go again bitching and not offering a solution. So, let me go this way. I would first refer all Democrats to my column entitled, "Five Ways Democrats Can Grow Balls." The next step after that would be to come up with some fresh ideas on how to get this country going again. They (and we) need to Jack Kennedy up this motherfucker right quick and show the right what the word "vision" truly means.

Another recent, classic excuse from the left is that they "don't have any real power so what can they do?" What the??!!?? So what if they are in the minority....at least do something. Take to the airwaves and start saying things like: George Bush and Dick Cheney are guilty of the negligent homicide of 2300 of our armed forces. That will get people's attention.

If people call them on their Iraq War vote, if they voted yes, then they should admit they were wrong and move on. Message to Democrats: Don't blame Bush for the fact that you were too timid to vote how you REALLY felt. You were a pussy. Now you need to be a fucking man about it and start getting this country back in shape, bitch. Stop lying your ass off everyday like our President does and speak the truth. Don't sabotage the elections of potential candidates who are blunt and do speak the truth (i.e. Paul Hackett). People will respect you for it.

Tell the people of this country that we are totally fucked right now. Tell them that we need to vastly changed the way we think, the way we feel, and the way we conduct ourselves in the world. Stop hiding in the corner like timid little twits and actually do something, for crying out loud.!!!

Now get going before you really start to piss me off.

Great entry. I love your vitriol--you're writing is explosive! Obviously, the best line is:

They (and we) need to Jack Kennedy up this motherfucker right quick and show the right what the word "vision" truly means.

The big blank spot near the top is another great touch.

Now, where's Crabbyface Scratch with a big 'ol response?

Hi Mark,

I am not the writer that you are, but I have read a number of you blogs and been quite impressed with your typemenship.I have not read all your blogs, but I have got a good idea of your thoughts
of Bush and the current administration and the Iraq war.

One of the things the TV ads that are "for" the war do say is that the men and women are "Fighting for our Freedom". Being non-American and only really maybe learning about fighting for freedom from movies, I am wondering
if you have some insight into what they might mean. With the whole Iraq issue I have never felt like my freedom was in jeopardy. Even if Iraq and Sadam Husein had thousands of weapons of mass destruction that he flaunted
openly, I do not believe that I would have felt threatened. He did not have the capability to deliver them to US soil. North Korea is more likely to be able to do that. To me fighting for freedom is things like the American
civil war where the slaves were emancipated, or against Japan in WW2, or against aliens in the Independence Day movie. These are all scenarios where I can relate to freedom being at stake. Am I missing something with this
Iraq war or do the war ads just lie?

Sababy,
You ask a very valid question. I feel, as a veteran of the Iraqi war (March 2003-May 2004), that I may have a unique perspective on this, so let me try and explain why I feel that the Iraqi war is and act of "Fighting for Freedom".
First let's describe FREEDOM:
According to The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language: Fourth Edition. 2000. Freedom is described as "Liberty of the person from slavery, detention, or oppression."

You say that you are non-American, yet you have grasped a VERY American Theme in that when you hear "Fighting for Freedom" you think we're talking about YOUR freedom. We're not. Say what you want about the Iraqi War and why we (the US) got involved, Mark always does (winks @ Mark), but the men and women that are driving MSR Tampa everyday ARE INDEED fighting for freedom. (MSR Tampa, for you non-military types, is the Main Supply Route that goes from Kuwait up through Baghdad to Tikrit to Mosul and stops just shy of the Turkish border in Dahuk - I've spend many'a'days on that road, and it aint fun) The American (and coalition) Soldiers defend the freedom of the Iraqi people from a Bully and his lackeys. Today Sadam is in Jail, and of the 51 Other Most wanted in his Regime; only 8 are still at large. http://www.defendamerica.mil/iraq/iraqi55/ Power grids in Iraq have never been better, safe drinking water is abundant and available to all citizens again, schools are open and kids are learning how to read and write. (These points by the way are not arguable, I've been there, I've delivered the supplies, I've seen the faces on the people. I've met with the Iraqi Joe Jim and Steve, and they are not the insurgents we are fighting against. They are happy to be out from under Sadam's boot. They have been "liberated from the person that had them enslaved, detained, and oppressed." I fought for THIER freedom.

THAT BEING SAID!! Let me also state that the Americans MAY have been mislead into this war by the worst president in known history. {The Earth shakes and Mountains topple at the sound of ME saying this} But don't the ends justify the means? Yea, it's been WAY too expensive, yea, it's been overly violent, and yea, there probably were 18 hundred ways that we could have taken down Sadam and his dress wearing sons with far less money and bloodshed, but that's the Monday Morning Quarterbacking that our children's children will get to mull over. BUT AS FOR RIGHT NOW, WE ARE IN THIS FIGHT SO SOMEBODY BETTER FIND A WAY TO WIN IT, AND WIN IT QUICKER!!! I, for one, am tired of hearing about how my brothers in arms are dying every fricking day! I'm sick of the war, but yea, it is a war about freedom, but it's not freedom for the one's paying for the war.

Ok, I'm a moron...just went back and re-read Sababy's post...

Yep, the adds are lying. You're right...**insert TiVo remark here**...This war is being solicited as a "Fight them over there, or we'll have to fight them over here" by George and Company. That's a line of BS by OUR Governement...perhaps WE ARE THE ONE WHO NEED TO BE LIBERATED FROM A TYRANT. I truely belive that if we were not so involved over there, Muslim Zelots would have no desire to come here and wage war on us, but how much would a gallon of gas cost THEN?!

Why on earth would have gone to college for film like me? It's like a degree in underwater basketweaving.

You sir, have a career.

Phil from Minnetonka said...

I have a really dumb question about the military. I'm not trying to be sarcastic - I'm completely ignorant. Steph - if you were in the 234th Signal Battalion of the 101st Airborne Division, does that mean that there are (at least) 233 other Signal Battalions and 100 other Airborne Divisions right now? Or that there have been 233 other Signal Battalions ever? I've never understood how the numbers get so big...

Regarding the post - I too feel completely let down by the Democrats in Washington. Hopefully they've figured out that running on the platform of "I'm not George Bush" won't cut it in 2006 like it didn't cut it in 2004. Face it - the Democrats stand for nothing - just like the Republicans. These are dark times. Our electorate demands political solutions that are described in soundbites; we're more about anthems than realistic solutions.

I guess I've lost faith in the people. We don't demand enough of our press or our government. Civil discourse is dead. Comprimise is dead. We haven't had a civil discussion on this blog in ... ever? Political discussion degenerates into vitriol and hyperbole. Even Markadelphia's profanity-laced post is really too much.

Here's the thing - I believe that we should "Lieberman" all of our incumbant senators and representatives - both Democrat and Republican. They should all get booted at the primaries - they shouldn't even be allowed to run again. Why? Because they've done such a horrific job reining in Darth Cheney and Goober Bush. I'm not a big "term limit" guy. I think you should fire people for poor performance. We get an opportunity every 2-4-6 years to fire poor performers - so let's take advantage.

Part of me hopes the Dems do run on a platform of:
** [Repubs have torn] away any vestiges of the Constitution
** George Bush and Dick Cheney are guilty of the negligent homicide of 2300 of our armed forces
** we are totally fucked right now
** Darth Cheney and Goober Bush

Because, as mean-spirited and ugly as the campaigns would be, there's no doubt in my mind who would come out on top. Another decade of Republican control is OK by me.

I've stood back and watched what the Dems have done to Lieberman with a mixture of disgust and awe. It hasn't been good enough to "fire" the man. The raging anger of the far left has compelled them, including Markadelphia, to repeatedly shit on the man. A man who represented a realistic chance for the Dems to preach a message of compromise. The Dems have chosen a different path, and their message is coming through loud and clear to me.

Mark Ward said...

Well, I guess according to PL, majority doesn't rule. What happened to Lieberman was quite simple: the people saw that he was blindly supporting a failed policy. They didn't agree with said policy so they voted him out.

This was the first example of a mood that I think is indicative of the whole country. In my opinion, if the Democrats do their usual do nothing bullshit, then the races will be close but I think blue will be the color of many a district and state. If they take my advice, actually grow some balls, come up with a "new frontier" type of plan, and aren't shitbags about it like NCDs are, then the ass-kicking they will lay on the Republicans will make 1994 look like a tea party.

Take a look at the response from Stephen up there, PL. He voted for Bush twice and thinks that Bush is "the worst president in known history." Much as I like to take credit for this change of his opinion, I think the actions of Bush Co in the last couple of years have sickened many people that voted for him.

Our current leadership can try all they want to distance themselves from failed policies and gargantuan mistakes (i.e. the latest Mark Kennedy ads in which he doesn't even mention that he is a Republican let alone a Bush supporter) but in the end, Lieberman is just the beginning.

Word of advice....refrain from trying to put words in my mouth. Not only are you no good at it, the degree to which you miss the mark is laughable.

I'm not talking about majority rule. I'm talking about the far left, yourself included, taking personal shots at the man who, despite your predictable inaccurate slant to the contrary, has a record of voting his conscience and not toeing some line. "Blindly supporting a failed policy". Nice characterization; typical of the drivel that the Dems are choosing to spew, and completely consistent with the other bullet points of their platform. I'm just gonna rush right out and line up behind these guys....

Mark, you're saying exactly what the Republicans want you say. Criticizing the Democrats for what Bush has done is like criticizing victim of a hit-and-run accident for crossing the street.

Let's review some history.

In 1998 Al Qaeda bombed US embassies in Africa. In August Bill Clinton ordered the bombing of a factory in Sudan suspected to produce chemical weapons. This was in retaliation for Sudan's sheltering of Osama bin Laden. Bin Laden left Sudan and went to Afghanistan.

In 2000 Al Gore won the popular vote. Bush took Florida by manipulating the voting rolls and other questionable pre- and post-election gimmicks. In the end, he won the presidency by a single vote: a five to four majority on the Supreme Court.

In December, 2000, just after the election, Al Qaeda bombed the USS Cole.

In 2001 Dick Cheney was put in charge of the US antiterrorism effort. He proceeded to totally ignore the problem. The Able Danger program was shut down, which had Mohammed Atta and other 9/11 hijackers in its sights.

In August Bush received the infamous "Bin Laden going to attack US" security briefing. In September the planes hit.

In October, 2001 someone mailed anthrax spores to Democratic senator Tom Daschle's office, as well as Tom Brokaw and some other media outlets. People got sick. Some died. Genetic tests showed that the anthrax originated from US weapons labs. Democrats and the media had been targeted for death by someone in our own government. Mysteriously, the FBI still hasn't caught the person responsible and has basically given up.

Bush rammed through the Patriot act. Bush began collecting data illegally on billions of telephone calls and emails in the United States. Bush began monitoring all international money transfers -- not just those of terrorists.

In 2003 Bush and his cronies lied about Saddam's weapons of mass destruction and connection to 9/11. The press collaborated with Bush, and cable news channels could hardly wait for a new war -- profits were down.

All throughout, many Democrats said what Bush was doing was wrong. Many Democrats voted against these laws. But many Democrats, facing reelection in 2004, had to consider how the public -- still scared out of their wits by 9/11, and anthrax, and bin Laden on the loose -- would treat them if they didn't support the president. So some grudgingly voted for the Patriot Act and other items on the Bush agenda.

But in the end it didn't matter, because Bush had the majorities in both houses of Congress. He could -- and can -- ram through anything he pleases. You can measure his degree of control by the number of vetoes he's used: one.

In the 2004 election Karl Rove used outrageous personal character assassination techniques. With the Swift Boat Veterans and Dan Rather's horrendous blunder, Rove succeeded turning lies into truth and truth into lies.

The Secretary of State in Ohio used exactly the same tricks that were used in Florida to give the election to Bush, screwing the Democrats again.

The war in Iraq begins its downward spiral. The insurgency turned into a civil war. Too few troops were sent in. Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo happened. The entire Iraq war was sabotaged from the top. Al Qaeda is beginning to resurface in Afghanistan.

Then Katrina hit, and the true height of the Bush administration's incompetence become glaringly obvious to all.

Jack Abramoff was caught red-handed, numerous Bush administration officials and Republican Congressman like Tom DeLay are ensnared in the biggest corruption scandal in a hundred years. It reaches all the way to the White House, where Rove orders all photos of Bush and Abramoff together destroyed.

Now for some current events.

Just last week Republicans in Congress offered up a bill reducing the estate tax on billionaires combined with an increase in the minimum wage. The Bush Justice Department orchestrated removal of control of the voter rolls from the Democratic Secretary of State in Alabama, giving control to the Republican governor. Are you beginning to sense a pattern?

Just what are Democrats supposed to do when faced with this kind of blatant and cynical manipulation?

Bush has lied, cheated and stolen elections. Democrats have been victimized by him again and again. And somehow you blame the Democrats.

You are way off base this time.

The entire thrust of the Republican strategy is demoralize their enemies (Yeah, that's what they call them. They're not political opponents. They're enemies. Just like Dick Nixon's enemies list). By making everyday people disgusted with the whole mess, they hope to suppress turnout by moderates and liberals, so they can steal their way into office again.

Don't let them sucker you. Keep your eye on the ball, and the true perpetrators of this disaster.

Keep it coming, boys. Keep it coming. Your virulent tirades of innuendo, half-truth, and factoid makes for great reading!

And just what exactly are the half-truths here, PL? I don't see any at all so please educate us on what is really happening.

Whatever. If the world around you makes more sense to you by believing this is true, then by all means go for it. It's just wasting my time refuting the points that have repeatedly been refuted on this blog before. There are only so many times that a person can point out the difference between fact and interpretation before it gets to be too frustrating to continue doing so.

I hope the elections go well for you this Fall so you can maybe stop living in your dank, dismal world.

This is a little off post, but Phil from Minnetonka asked a Military History Question. Here is the anser: Simply put, yes.

Do a google search on the US Army [first, second, fourteenth, thirty third, seventy nineth] Division and you will find Many Mililitary Divisions, some still active, some not. Units are disbanded for several reasons, some for retirement, some for the fact that they were obliverated in a battle and no one wants thier designator. I was actually a member of the 134th Signal Battalion when I was activated. I was attached to the 234th Signal Battalion and sent to iraq where I worked with SEVERAL other Signal Battalions (incuding the FIRST Signal Battalion) in an effort to Support various units of the 101st Airborne Assult Division. I personally supported Division HQ, but for some reason could not aquire one of thier spring loaded field knives. (the 101st gives each of thier soldiers a switch blade, they are the only switch blade that was allowed to be brought home from Iraq because they were issued by the US military.) If anyone can find one of these for me. I'll pay good money.
