Dave Still Has It!

Holy crap, this is the funniest fucking thing I have seen in a long time. Zoom forward to the 6 minute mark and watch from there.

Racing to the airport?

This is why we have to let the right wingers keep their guns. They can't help but shoot themselves in the feet!
The McCain campaign is approaching Clouseau-esque proportions in their flailing attempts to seem worthy of the Office of the President. They know they can't win on real issues. They know they don't have a candidate with either genuine credibility or inherent charisma. They're beginning to realize that their v.p. candidate is as shallow and vapid as ... well, as the beauty queen she used to be. They got bupkis to work with, and they're shit-scared.
Desperate people make bad decisions. It's going to be fun and scary to watch this campaign explode.

Dan, click on the electoral map on the left and read Andy's take on all this...posted today.

I have to say I am enraptured by the suspense. Will he show or won't he? How much is Dodd going to make him pay for it? It's so exciting!

Dave still has it allright. If "it" is the pompous, self-promoting, self-important babbling of a television personality. Talk about executive pay, by the way.

What's comical is the lengths to which the cynicism has reached when it comes to McCain. What are Dave's numbers these days - my guess is that CBS news has possibly three times the viewership than Late Night, and that McCain simply realises that his message is better served to viewers who might be more inclined to vote in 5 weeks, and of whom are sleeping by 11 PM in preparation for the impending workday. It's just better use of his time as America wants to hear from him right now, and most are not watching poor old Dave anymore. It's just sour grapes.

As for the debates - Obama sounds like a kindergartner eager to get to school, or get schooled. "Presidents need to handle multiple issues" - true enough, but, calm down son. Remember, you are still but a Senator, and your country needs to see concern. Remember B.O., we on the fence would love to elect you, but, you have to give us all that "presidential" feel, that aire of confidence. Don't interpret "concern" for stalling - we all know what's at stake and the debate can wait. The confident thing to say is, "I believe the dabate should go forward as I am confident in my ability to handle multiple demands of my leadership." See, doesn't that sound presidential? "He's to scared to meet me at the flagpole" is not what I want to hear from my president. Leave that garbage for Franken/Coleman.

RLD, you're kidding with the link, right? You do know who runs that site?

Show me another source and whether or not it was on public road and then we can talk.

The video is on youtube. The Madia campaign issued a statement on it too.

Last year, the state of Alaska gave the Special Olympics $250,000. This year, the Alaska legislature requested $550,000 for Special Olympics, which would have constituted a 120 percent increase. Gov. Palin denied the request; instead approving a 10-percent raise, providing a gift of $275,000. A 10 percent raise during tough times is very good, as any employee in America would attest. For most employees, a raise of 3 to 4 percent is a good raise. In other words, not only did Palin not cut funding, she actually raised it — just not as much as some would have liked.

- New York Times, September 6: “According to state documents, she cut the state’s Special Olympics budget in half.” - Jennifer Steinhauer and Amy Harmon
- Atlanta Bureau, September 9: “During her few years as governor, she vetoed $275,000 for Alaska’s Special Olympics — half the amount being sought.”
- Bloomberg News, September 11, “Palin, who said parents of special-needs children would have an advocate in the White House, cut funds for the Special Olympics.” - Margaret Carlson
- National Public Radio, September 12: “just this summer she cut funding for Alaska’s Special Olympics.” Libenson cites the governor’s line-item veto trimming the Special Olympics budget by $275,000.” - Sue Libenson
- MSNBC, September 17: “As the chief executive up north, she vetoed $275,000, crossed it out, of the state funding for the Special Olympics. She cut the Special Olympics budget in half and is campaigning as an advocate for special-needs kids. That’s pretty sick.” - Keith Olbermann

"She cut the Special Olympics budget in half"

Gotta love liberal math. Increase funding $25,000 over the prevoius year and that's considered a 50% cut. Bit remember karl, there is no bias at all at npr or at msnbc, none at all.

Where are your sources, rld? So far, the only one that has been up here is a right wing blog known for its very shaky facts. I still have yet to see any links to statements by the Madia campaign or if the signs were on public property or not.

RLD, Karl, thanks for keeping it real. I'm sorry, but Madia looks like he is 18 years old. Couldn't the Dems have given me a better option come November? That goes for Franken too, I mean . . .

As for the Palin being "shallow and vapid,"; hey, no one gave Obama sole posession of the populist dog in this fight. I agree she comes up short on the facts and figures, that she is a bit grating and that she often appears in over her head, but, don't discredit the power of the cross. She will continue to stir the Republican base, she will indeed draw a larg portion of the disinfranchised female moderate, and over time, her handlers will help her find her groove. To you she is a know nothing, but, aren't you overestimating the American electorate a bit? Jesse Ventura? Tila Tequila?

By the way, "shallow and vapid as well, the beauty queen she used to be?" . . . don't you mean "shallow and vapid as Obama was during the debate?"

I suppose its only true if it is on the internet huh markadelphia? maybe the source was msnbc or npr - see above. again, no bias there, none at all right markadelphia? Yeah rld, this is the new era of politics!
