He Won

The more I think about it, the more I realize that those of you who say that it's not President Obama's skin that is the problem are actually right. It's not the fact that he's black. It's that he won. And continues to win.

Take a look at two recent Facebook cut-and-pastes that have been making the rounds.

Let's be clear on this: OBAMA did NOT kill Bin Laden. An American soldier, who Obama just a few weeks ago was debating on whether or not to PAY, did. Obama just happened to be the one in office when our soldiers finally found Bin Laden and took him out. This is NOT an Obama victory, but an AMERICAN victory.

and

A HUGE THANK YOU to our military, who have sacrificed, died, suffered, and worked hard, to fight people like Osama Bin Laden. YOU are the ones we thank. YOU are the ones who deserve ALL CREDIT. Thank a soldier for bringing due justice for those lost on 9/11 and all the victims around the world who suffered from his commands. Copy and paste if you agree....

Ah, childish dishonesty. There really is no finer example. Peel this back a layer (wafer thin) and one can easily see that they are pissed off that he succeeded.

When you tout yourself as the party of fiscal responsibility and national security and then go on to fail miserably at both, this is what you are left with in the end.

Yeah, there's no question that Obama made this happen. No, he didn't pull the trigger. But by analogy, Obama was just as responsible for bin Laden's death as Bush was for Saddam's.

By early 2002 Bush was already saying that bin Laden wasn't important, not a priority, and that Bush wasn't interested in "swatting flies."

Bush never took Al Qaeda seriously. In October, 2000 Al Qaeda bombed the USS Cole in Yemen. Clinton drew up plans for going after bin Laden, but didn't carry them out because it was right before the election and he didn't want to be accused of an "October Surprise." As lame ducks the Democrats left this important policy decision up to Bush. But once in office, Bush did nothing about bin Laden and Al Qaeda, ignoring Richard Clarke's warnings about terrorists. Then 9/11 happened and Bush went into Afghanistan, full of bluster.

But Bush was always more interested in attacking Iraq. When bin Laden was cornered at Tora Bora, Bush left his capture up to an extremely small US force and local Afghans. This allowed bin Laden to escape to Pakistan (where he wound up living in the lap of luxury for years, just outside Pakistan's military academy). After that, Bush fixed the intelligence to pretend that Saddam was involved in 9/11 and had WMDs, so that he could justify an invasion. That got us involved in a war that only served to inflame the Muslim world and help Al Qaeda recruit thousands upon thousands of new terrorists, spreading death across the world (like the train bombings in Spain and England).

Furthermore, after Obama took office the strategy with drones and incursions in Pakistan changed drastically. Bush was always afraid to go after Al Qaeda in Pakistan, but Obama has taken the fight to wherever Al Qaeda is hiding.

There's only one response for such blatant bias and partisanship:

Fuck you, and the horse you rode in on.

It took a long time to get the information needed to find him. It required breaking KSM (which included waterboarding), and it most definitely required Gitmo and interrogation, both things President Obama opposed.

Yes, good for Obama for making the decision to take him out. That is the credit he deserves. That we actually found him in the first place had nothing to do with Obama, and in fact, happened IN SPITE OF Obama's policies. (Remember his attempt to close Gitmo?)

With respect to the quotes you pasted, I have to agree. It's pretty silly to try to minimize or write out Obama's role in getting OBL.

.. That said, it's also pretty silly to try to claim that Bush had nothing to do with it. Why is it so bad to say that Bush and Obama had a hand in it, Obama maybe a bit more since he did the actual deed, and simply say well done all around?

>the party of fiscal responsibility

True, Repub party fails at that. Only problem is that the D's fail even worse at that. Sigh.

http://www.startribune.com/world/121292099.html

Two other CIA prisoners -- Al-Qaida's operations chief Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, and his successor, Abu Faraj al-Libbi -- gave their interrogators false information about the courier after they were waterboarded repeatedly, U.S. officials said.

No, sir. Fuck YOU and the horse you rode on in. Waterboarding never worked because after the first time they knew they weren't going to die, numb nuts. The guy they did get the name from wasn't waterboarded at all. If you think that's the only reason why they got bin Laden, you are a serious fucking fool, butt wipe. You are just pissed off that Obama did what your guy could never do. Hell, he didn't even want to. BLK is right. He was more interested in Iraq.

Mark nailed it. Your party has failed at fiscal responsibility and national security. What's really going to be a drag is when Obama starts picking off dudes left and right with all that intel they got from the compound. What will you say then, beef stick?

Yep, but yours makes them seem like a stunning success. How awful for you to support failure that makes repub failure look great in comparison.

Wrong little fucking toad - I don't have a partisan affiliation. I say both of the major parties are a disaster - and fuck you and anyone else that thinks you are less of a shit because the other smells bad too.

This attitude is precisely what is ruining this country and I don't care which other guy you blame.

downtown,

KSM GAVE THEM THE NAME OF THE COURIER who eventually led them to Bin Laden, you idiot!
