I've looked at many Old English and Latin manuscripts, and the thing that really stands out about the Voynich manuscript is that is in extremely good shape, and the handwriting is extremely legible.
That makes it seem much newer than the purported date, and much more likely to be a modern fabrication, as the writer of the BBC piece believes.
