Did They Get The Memo?

Well, it looks like the new saviors of the Republic in the US House of Representatives didn't get the memo on how to govern.

Republicans have also achieved the small miracle of letting Mr. Obama position himself as an election-year tax cutter, although he's spent most of his Presidency promoting tax increases and he would hit the economy with one of the largest tax increases ever in 2013. This should be impossible.

Yes, it should. I've been watching with mouth agape as the House does the exact same fucking thing they did in 1995 which resulted in President Clinton winning a second term in 1996. I mean, when you piss of the Wall Street Journal...well...your butt is seriously in a satchel now!

Here is a good take down on the whole stupidity. Read the whole thing, including...

I know it's nuts to suggest that the government, like living, breathing human beings, should live within its means, but it's really all I want for Christmas.

Pretty funny that this comes from a publication called "Reason." I wonder where their sense of it is when they look at the history of how this country established itself as a superpower.

You seem really hung up on the superpower notion. It kinda comes across like a sportsfan yakking up how great his team is. Of course you didn't actually read the article.

Anyway, you should know that at Hit n' Run - the "for a magazine called Reason" is a drinking game, so I think I'll have one!

please tell us why the democrats want the tax cut extended for only 2 months.

Apparently two months of employment tax cut is all the extra stimulatin' this economy needs.

I don't know, juris. The economy seems to be heading in the right direction. Let's see what happens with jobs after the holiday season. The number to watch will be that first quarter of 2012.
