Yeah...Just What I Thought

When it comes right down to it, most of the people that bitch a lot about the government are really the ones that benefit the most. Sort of like...hmmm...oh...I don't know...teenagers who bitch about their parents who pay the bills and provide them with a nice place to live?

Characterizing half of that list as "receiving money" is dishonest.

Characterizing several of those as "government handouts" is so wrong that a veteran should punch you in the nose.

Typical liberal stupidity. Which is really dumb considering how much you had to do to get over average stupidity.

I'm not the one characterizing these as government handouts, GD. Don't shoot the messenger. My beef is with the people who bitch about government "handouts" AND then get plenty of government support. They are the ones that have the hypocrisy to overcome, not me. I wholeheartedly support things like the GI Bill and other means of financial support for our veterans as well as these other programs.

Do you see where it's logical that I question the irrational behavior?

No.

Like I said - half that list is not 'receiving money'.

It's dishonest.

And you are the one who posted it here.

And you dishonestly claim a list of things that are not handouts in order to paint with a very broad brush.

Show real handouts and real people who are hypocrites - or shut up.

Why not, Mark? You posted it. In fact, you posted it under the title, "Yeah...Just What I Thought."

Oh wait. You're claiming to agree with part of it while disavowing another part of it (but only after it's pointed out to you what dishonest bullshit this idiotic graphic contains (lifted apparently from Democratic Underground).

You're not allowed to that, you know. You yourself explained that earlier. If someone thinks that Rand was right about some things, then one must "believe in Rand" and all she wrote. That's some grand binary thinking you've got going there, Marky! But since you posted the graphic and said "Yeah...Just What I Thought", you obviously must "believe" all of the graphic and presumably the rest of Democratic Underground. That's the way it works here in Calvinball Marxy World. Your rules.

Uh, well, that would be anyone in the Tea Party who is on Medicare and Social Security, right? And do either of you take deductions on your taxes for home mortgage or EITC? Those are handouts as well.

But that's the real problem here, isn't it? Both of you (as are most of the right) are completely full of shit when they bitch about the government. You bitch about the poor people on welfare but I'm betting that YOU take welfare too...along with the oil industry, the financial sector etc etc..

I don't have any problem with any of these programs. YOU guys do. So when you bitch about them, I'm wondering how your hypocritical asses can look at yourselves in the mirror in the morning.

A tax deduction is not a handout.

The EITC is a convoluted way to reduce lower tier tax rates. That's not a handout either.

Unless of course you feel that the progressive tax system is unfairly undercharging taxes upon the lower income levels - in other words unless you think anything other than a flat tax is a government handout program. But since you've been harping about the rich for so long I don't see you thinking that.

I, on the other hand, actually do think the flat tax would be the only 'fair' route.

In other words, Mark is effectively saying that the Federal government is like our Mommy and Daddy and that we should be grateful that they let us have anything at all. Sheesh.

Mark Ward said...

As Nikto has explained, there will never be a flat tax. Too many of our wealthier citizens depend on the welfare:)

Not grateful, Larry. Just not an adolescent given to wild outbursts of emotion and self righteousness.

Given your regular outbursts of emotionalism and self-righteousness amped up to levels of smug rarely seen outside a lab, that's really rich, Mark.

Adolescence must be pretty impressive to someone with all the sophistication and elan of a tempestuous two-year old.
