Republicans then included Taft and Ike - who weren't keen on policing the world or exporting democracy; much as Paul now. Pretty crazy, huh?

Do me a favor though - shut the fuck up about neo-cons; those are the spawn of Wilsonian progressivism and they've never seen a country they didn't want to invade and improve.

Oh, and "food safety regulations" includes you cannot sell raw milk. Sure, that's a fringe issue - but exactly where in the Constitution is the grant of power covering that?

D'uh. Commerce Clause. Commerce Clause is an unconditional grant of authority for anything that Congress can pass and the President will sign. Backed up with "promote the general welfare" and "necessary and proper", it turns out that all the rest of the Constitution was just mere velvet hiding the steel fist of Commerce. It only took a number of decades for that to become apparent to our betters...
As we're told again and again, it's a Living Document, and boiled down to it's essence, that means that it means no more and no less than whatever is convenient today. And tomorrow may need a different convenience. We'll piss on that paper when we get to it.

Jeez, juris, haven't you been paying attention?

I take it by your comment that you think that the Constitution should be strictly adhered to as it written over 200 years ago? No adjustments whatsoever?

No adjustments whatsoever?

Wrong. The process for making adjustments is called amendment. Works great too. For some reason Progressives just could never get into it.

Progressives can't get into it because their ideas are stupid and historically proven failures. Yet they keep pushing and we have useful fools cheering them on (queue M).
