The Question No One Is Asking

The question no one seems to be asking Mitt Romney is this: what are the values the president is "apologizing" for? Values that directly contradict respecting someone else's freedom to worship as they choose without fear of punishment? Values of a man who has been convicted of fraud and selling drugs? Values of mouth foaming bigotry?

These values that I mention are the ones inherent in the maker of the anti-Islamic video that started all the problems we have right now at embassies in the Middle East. This is what Mitt Romney is defending? I don't get it.

In addition, Mitt Romney seems to be living in some sort of time warp, as eloquently explained by Andy over at electoral-vote.com.

What Obama didn't say is that Romney's model of the world no longer holds. In the past, wars and attacks were governmental affairs. Country A invaded country B and then country B could send its army or air force to wreak havoc with country A. But like so many other government functions, in parts of the world, war has largely been turned over to the private sector. Al Qaeda, other terrorist groups, and jihadists who killed the American ambassador to Libya, J. Christopher Stevens, are all private sector organizations, not government ones. As a result, you can't just bomb them because you can't find them.

Mr. Romney lives in either 1958 or 1985. I can't tell which, to be honest.  He has very little understanding of what the world is like today and, so naturally, it must be (cue Made Up World) the president that really doesn't understand. Yeah, that's it...

I get why Governor Romney is saying what he is saying. His guys are telling him the only way he can win now is to go hard right and get out the base. They loathe the president to the core and will believe anything that is said about him. The bigger the lie, the more they believe.

It makes me sad because I wish we would have had a country where this would have happened after this horrible tragedy.

"Imagine if Romney had called President Obama, asked how he could be of assistance in this time of crisis, offered to appear at his side at a press conference to demonstrate that, when American lives are at risk, politics stop at the water's edge." Romney would have appeared presidential and Obama's equal at a joint press conference. Instead, he appears to be trying to profit from a tragedy.

Wishful thinking, I know. But that's what you get when you have to deal with juveniles.

Al Jazeera is reporting that American and Israeli flags are being burned in London. The University of Texas has evacuated their campus after a phoned-in bomb threat from Al-Qaeda. No bombs were found. Fargo, North Dakota, state university has ordered all employees and students off campus after receiving a bomb threat. Ambassadors are being murdered, former SEALs are dying, embassies are burning across the Middle East, mobs overran the German and U.K. embassies in Khartoum, Sudan’s police force fired tear gas on Friday in a bid to stop more than 5,000 demonstrators from storming the German and British embassies, protestors threw stones at the two neighboring embassies in Khartoum before they stormed the main gates of the German embassy, and Obama has a busy schedule of campaigning and fundraising - and you choose to talk about Mitt Romneys statement?

Juvenile politics.

I thought you loved 1958.

Your desparation is showing.

Really? You are blaming the video for the problems and not a bunch of juvenile idiots who react to words by killing people?

Your clue meter really needs an overhaul.

Playing the victim card again, eh Chairman?

That's not the victim card, that's the truth card. I'm not surprised that you're getting the two confused.

So, it's not Mitt Romney's fault that the media is wondering about some things? It's because they are all in love with Obama? If you are supposed to be the party of responsibility, why is it never your fault and always the fault of the liberals/media/government?

If you are supposed to be the party of responsibility

Pardon me, but your straw man is burning… again.

It's the party of personal responsibility. Each person is responsible for his own actions. Now take thecorrect definition and run it through again. What do you come up with? Who is responsible for the media's behavior?

Mark has little more than straw men, gasoline, and matches. There are times I suspect his "little man" (if he is indeed fully male) is made of straw, too. It must really hurt when he accidentally sets it ablaze, too.

Even some Obama stalwarts in the press have had enough of some of his shite:
President Obama, stop blaming the victim for Mideast violence
by Kirsten Powers.

Each person is responsible for his own actions.

So, that would mean that Mitt Romney is responsible for the things he says and does. Or doesn't do. Right?

But by your logic, if the media reports on it, then suddenly it becomes their fault...hmm...

And there's number 12.

Do you ever get tired of being so predictable?

Mark Ward said...

And the pivot back to me to avoid answering the question. Whenever the mood of avoidance takes leave of you, Noni, stop on back and explain how it's all Katie Couric's fault that Sarah Palin is a moron.

Go back and look at the cartoon again. See what the Obama figure is saying? That's the part being ignored by the media, and YOU.

That you so blithely ignore that part, and somehow can't be bothered to even think about it, is precisely what I'm dinging you for. I shouldn't have to point you back to the cartoon to see that part because IT IS BLEEDIN' OBVIOUS!!

The only attitude that explains your magical ability to not see the obvious is belligerent ignorance. Such willful ignorance is the action the media (and YOU) are personally responsible for. BTW, it's also what Standard Response #12 is.

In this case, you're acting exactly like the 9/11 Troothers, such as the "Loose Change" idiots.

The cartoon is a lie, Noni. It's another example of the fictional character known as Barack X. There never was any meeting scheduled with Bibi (both men weren't going to even be in NY at the same time). And since when should our president rearrange his life for the leader of Israel? The last time I checked we were providing them the $$ and the weapons.

And do you honestly think that the president blew off Libya to go to Vegas? That is not what happened.

Is this what's going to happen for the next two months? You're just going to keep making things up? Good grief...

It's a simplification demonstrating Obama's attitude. It's not supposed to be a engineering grade comparison to 20 decimal places! Do you also claim it's inaccurate because Obama actually wears clothes and doesn't actually look like that?

Again, you're still Missing. The. Point.

(Does the whiplash you get from dodging some much still hurt?)

It's a simplification demonstrating Obama's attitude.

Prime Minister Netanyahu today on Rommney's assertion that Obama abandoned Israel

"It's simply not the case and simply not my position. There's no bus and I'm not going to get into that discussion."

"I'm always pleased and happy to have a conversation with President Obama. We've had our discussions; our schedules on this visit didn't work out...but we continue to have these consultations."
