A Perpetual Adolescent Power Fantasy

Bill requires all Idaho kids to read ‘Atlas Shrugged’

Fantastic! Now, it will be a law that young people have an indefinite adolescent power fantasy.

And doesn't this subvert the whole point of the book? Like I have been saying....most libertarians are closet fascists. Re-education camps are fine as long as we are doing it!

Just curious, have you ever actually read the book you hate so much?

I read it when I was 14.

Mark, it was a warning, not a how-to manual.

I've never read it. Nor do I consider it necessary as a precondition for leaning libertarian. I am very Jeffersonian in my libertarianism.

NMN - the Twilight Zone episode To Serve Man; some people really do see 1984 as a guide not a cautionary tale. Machiavelli's The Prince also comes to mind.

Zone and Outer Limits were staples of my diet in my early years.

Are you implying that Idaho schools do not require any books be read?
