It looks like the two bombers of the Boston Marathon were Chechen rebels? Wow, I didn't see that one coming. One of them is dead and the other one is still at large of this post.
They weren't Chechen rebels. They've been in the US for years. The younger one, still at large, is a kid who went to the Cambridge Latin school, and was on the wrestling and volleyball teams, according to a kid interviewed on NPR who knew him quite well. All his acquaintances describe him as a great guy, and they can't believe he'd do a thing like this.
We still don't know what was going on, or what motivated them. Maybe it has something to do with the repression of Chechnya by Russia, maybe not.
Maybe, because most Chechens are Muslims they are Muslims. And maybe, since the basic tenets of Islam is contra to the basic tenets of a free society their being Muslim is all that's needed to explain their motivation.
But that can't be possible because, as Mark says, Muslims in America just want iPods.
Well, Bill Maher would agree with you. He and Brian Levin got into it last night in the first segment on Real time. I'll have some video for it later in the week, hopefully

You must be so disappointed - hoping it was right-wing-nut Americans and the hours of ranting you could enjoy.

If it is connected to Russian actions in Chechnya, it makes no sense, because our current government has criticized Putin for his heavy-handed tactics in Chechnya. Just the other day the Obama administration imposed sanctions on Russian officials for human rights violations.
Maybe, because most Chechens are Muslims they are Muslims. And maybe, since the basic tenets of Islam is contra to the basic tenets of a free society their being Muslim is all that's needed to explain their motivation.

Until it was discovered they were foreign-born Muslims, there was all kinds of hopeful speculation, almost salivation, that it was Right Wing/Tea Party/Neo-Nazi/Christian radicals. {sarcasm}Now their motivations are a complete mystery to the media and their muppets on the left.{/sarcasm}
My favorite speculation was David Sirota over at Slate - with his raging boner for right-wing-nut white guy as perp.
