"Every post is honorable in which a man can serve his country"

(George Washington, letter to Benedict Arnold, 14 September 1775)

Now that is funny, considering how Arnold ultimately acted. Then again, you like words better than actions.

From a guy that thinks forcibly taking money from people to give to other people is Christian charity, I'd hate to see his definition of serving the country...

"forcibly taking money"

I thought you said taxes were OK. So now they are not Constitutional and forcibly taking money?

Larry said...

Simply to give it to other people in exchange for their existence and votes -- yeah, I've got a problem with that.

GuardDuck said...

Constitutional or not, it's still forcibly taken.

Of course you're dissembling, as the point is that you think the Gov't giving the money to others is 'charity'.

Do you have the freedom to leave this country and never come back? Ultimately, then, it's not really force. If you want to live here, you have to play by the rules. I think I can speak for a great many people when I say that if you and the rest of the adolescents left, we'd be a lot better off. Maybe you could move somewhere with less government. Central African Republic, maybe?:)

Really? You are really going to try this argument after Centerpoint/RMR and corporate force?

FUCKING REALLY?

Further, Guard Duck and other like minded people have the freedom to spend his time trying to elect a candidate who will do away with income tax in favor of a sales tax. Perhaps if he spent less time posting here and more time trying fix the issues he perceives as problems, he might actually accomplish something.

You have no idea what I do or do not do with my time - therefore your little sputtering rage-fest is taken for what it's worth.

Force Mark. Define it.

By this theory, I guess the draft was completely voluntary, too? Huh. I wonder what all the protests were about, then?

Oh, you don't remember his grand attempt to elaborate on the horror of corporate force?

He couldn't define it if you put a gun to his head.

I actually laughed out loud when I read this. For someone who loathes authority as much as you do, it's amusing to see you order people around. Actually, it explains a lot:)

You have the freedom to leave this country any time you like, GD. You also have the freedom to choose what sort of government you want and encourage like minded people to support that initiative. You and these people have the power to change the tax system from what it is right now and remove the income tax So, nope, not force.

Of course, you may not find as many people who would support this because income tax pays for things that we need and support...things that you actually enjoy every day. It seems to me that you are more pissed off about being in the minority (hence the reason why you waste time posting on my blog where there are a few people who agree with you) than about being "forced" to do something.

Supporting the concept of taxes eliminates force from the equation. Because we SUPPORT it.

I support laws against murder. That doesn't change the fact that those laws are enforced - heh - by force.

It's not on my that you are completely unable to comprehend language.
