The President's Approval Ratings Rise

Rasmussen has the president at 50 or above for the last four days. Disapproval is dropping as well. I wonder why?

See your previous post about MSNBC if this truly puzzles you. Short attention span, low-information populace who are love the idea of Obama (cool, hip, black President). So as long as he's not in the news too much in bad way recently, they default to 'like'.

It couldn't possibly be that the ACA is a factor, right?

Some might like it, those who have lost coverage probably don't. But you keep telling yourself that ALL of American really loves and needs it. You wouldn't ever want to let reality intrude.

Taking a page out of the Republican playbook on snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

A Democratic fundraiser last week at billionaire Tom Steyer’s home amounted to a summit between Washington’s liberal elite and San Francisco’s climate intelligentsia.

So, a guy who made a fortune on hedge fund trading (you remember those - the things that wrecked our in economy in 2008; heck even Koch Bros' industries actually produce things) is now the money push on a message that the average American couldn't give two shits about.

I say go for it. Turn your back on ACA and the economy and everything else the Administration stands for or has done - and pitch your whole campaign on trying to scare people about climate change. You might even catch a few really low information voters!

Of course you are touting the only poll that shows him above 50%.

You're missing my point, GD. Why Rasmussen, the conservative polling agency?

Juris, I think the Dems are cowards. They should run proudly on the ACA. They have no clue about the "silent majority."

Yes, you who isn't actually running for office, getting feedback (something you are essentially immune to) and calculating what will and what will not keep you in office (which is truly the most important thing to a politician, vastly more important than the reason for being there).

People have a lot of respect for leaders that take a stand. If I were running or trying to stay elected (and I wouldn't if I had served more than 8 years), I'd stand by the ACA proudly regardless of my poll numbers. That's not what service to the country is about.

Ah, you mean like Tom Coburn?

What is going on with Rasmussen

I think the Rasmussen poll is off. The president's approval is in the mid 40s. You have to take the average of all of the polls to get the closest reading.

That being said, however, some of those who disapprove are liberals. They will still vote for Democrats over Republicans any day of the week.
