This Is SOOOOOO True

I just got this email from a reader. Hilarious:)

Don't you have to give McCain credit? For a man who graduated at the bottom of his class he married a woman worth 100 million and has been a US Senator for years. Wouldn't you have to say that he has done remarkably well?

Obama/Biden vs McCain/Palin, what if things were switched around?.....think about it. Would the country's collective point of view be different? More importantly, how do you think the "liberal media" would paint this picture?

Ponder the following:
  • What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage, including a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter?
  • What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?
  • What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?
  • What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?
  • What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a severe disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up to his standards?
  • What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair while he was still married?
  • What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to pain killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?
  • What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?
  • What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five?
  • What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?
  • What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on many occasions, a serious anger management problem?
  • What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer distribution?
  • What if the Obamas had adopted a white child?

That's a pretty selective view of McCains military record isn't it.

Also, perhaps it hasn't occurred to some folks, like you champions of the little guy, that a lot of families out there can't afford college.

Dude, extremely lame post. Try talking about ideas instead of other people.

i think it's a brilliant post. it's so true. beyond doubt, it will bug people who respect mccain. when obama takes a whole load of crap, that's par for the course. don't touch mccain and his record thogh, because that's below the belt, he's only running for the highest office in the land -- he's a white republican, married to a rich socialite -- which also disqualifies him from citical commentary. his running mate pretends to be a hockey mom, but unlike all other hockey moms, gets $15,000 make-up jobs & hair-dos (that's only 2-week's worth..) and neiman marcus outfits picked up on the public tab, because that's most of what she's got going for her -- great telegenic looks, oh and she's a devout christian (uh, as bush was meant to, be one.)

republicans by the bus-loads, including reagan's former solicitor-general who was mccain's campaign advisor as of early this year, now endorse and support obama (even though it's still neck-and-neck race in many states) for the simple reason, that they no longer take the mccain ticket seriously. joanne.

Nobody ever said people shouldn't look at McCains military record. I was suggesting looking at the complete picture, not cherry-picking out the bad parts of it to suit your agenda.

Actually I'm interested in the feeding frenzy over the approximately $150,000 spent on clothes for Sarah Palin...all of it being peddled as though it were some kind of scandal. Why hasn't anyone shared with us how much money Hillary Clinton's wardrobe cost? How about Obamas wardrobe? How about a little context please. Someone tell me how much Hillary or the Obamas spent on their clothes so we can decide if this is a story worthy of our attention or not.

The answer can easily tie in with a point I made above - maybe the Palins aren't as rich as the Clintons or Obamas. Bill Clinton is paid $100,000 for a one-hour speech and Obama made over $4 million last year. Note that I'm not criticizing them making their money...more power to them. Just looking for some perspective.

context is good.. all i know, from articles, read a couple of days ago, is Obama doesn't charge the campaign for his wardrobe or hair styling. according to these articles (reuters / ap,) yes, his suits cost approx $1000 each but he didn't charge the obama campaign for them, or list them as expenditures, he can afford them, he's keeping them, he paid for them. when there's been a tv appearance (again, articles) there is a campaign stylist or make-up artist he & biden use, but they (the make-up artists) don't make more money than the policy advisor (as in the mccain camp.) Palin's predecessor, Akaska's Governor for a few years, also didn't charge the state for taking his kids on trips (where he traveled on state biz) including their shopping trips. it's all relative. i definitely don't blame a mother for wanting to be with her kids and possibly creating the loop-holes or justifications, to do that. but it's so obvious, that there's less substance on the mccain-palin side, which means style and 'looks' takes precedent. they also charge the campaign and not themselves. joanne.
