Tonight's Debate

So, what is going to happen tonight? Will John McCain "go there?" I suspect he will and I predict it's not going to work as well as he thought. First of all, Americans have more on their mind than Reverend Wright, Bill Ayers, and Tony Rezko. Second, McCain has his own skeletons in his closet. For the record, though, I think he is telling the truth about the whole Keating Five deal. It was bad judgment but I don't think he broke the law.

What I am really looking for tonight is a substantive discussion between the two of them on where they want to take this country and how they are going to solve our mammoth problems. I probably shouldn't hold my breath, huh?

Just watched the debate. I think there should be a drinking game where everybody takes a swig each time McCain says my friends. Needless to say I got a bit annoyed.

It's all over but the crying. Once again, Barak proved that he is the calm, steady hand at the tiller. Whereas McCain was petulant, shambling and crabby, Obama was poised, calm and confident. If McCain and Palin are the best the GOP can do, they are in trouble.

But then, we already knew that, didn't we?

Any Republican holding out hope that McCain will win is deluding him/herself in one or two respects:
1) That McCain actually has a chance to win.
2) That a McCain Presidency would actually be a good thing.

What we (conservatives) really need to be focusing our energy on is the effort needed to limit the damage done by the 3-headed monster. If this economic bailout plan is any indication of how things are going to work in this "new era of politics" then we are truly in for rough times ahead.
