Unlike Bachmann or Palin, who probably have no idea what they're really saying, Newt Gingrich knows full well he's lying. Newt is a completely amoral man: this is the same guy who served divorce papers to his first wife when she was in the hospital with cancer. The same guy who was having an affair with an aide during the Clinton impeachment proceedings. The same guy who resigned in disgrace shortly thereafter. The same guy who shut the government down because he didn't get to sit up front with Clinton on Air Force One.
It astounds me that so many people in a party that keeps harping about "family values" is seriously considering this serial philanderer as a candidate for the presidency.
And now he's calling Obama's vision of a nuclear-free world a fantasy? When Obama is almost directly quoting Reagan? And the treaty Obama signed is almost identical to the one Reagan negotiated?
You want to hear about fantasies? How about "The Iraqi people will greet as liberators." Or "The Iraq war will pay for itself." Or "Saddam has weapons of mass destruction."
I expect politicians to put spin on events. But for an intelligent man like Gingrich to just cynically sit there and tell bald-faced lies about an extension of one of the few positive aspects of Reagan's legacy is mendacious, immoral and just plain evil.
Newt Gingrich, have you no shame?
It's just out and out lying at this point to whip up the base who WANT to hear the lies. It's ridiculous and I'm hoping that people won't listen.
Don't talk about cheating politicians please. You both voted for me to be your vice president didn't you? HYPOCRITES the both of you.
Rather than repeat myself re:Obama vs Reagan, I said it all on 1/30/10 in the comments on the SotU speech.
Speaking of ridiculous, here is a link that shows that talking about "welfare queens" isn't simply code for racism. Who are the liars in which base on this one?
That's totally racist Juris. Right about now, we need one of you guardians of racial overtones on here to point out the code words, who the liars are, and who the base is in that story. Can't you see we need your help on this one?
