What? You mean there isn't a War on Christmas?!!?

Dammit....

So you're claim is that "holiday" is precisely as Christian as "Christmas"?

Yes, I've known the etymology of "holiday" for years. I'm well aware of the irony of those trying to get away from Christianity using a word that originally meant "holy day". Problem is, it no longer means "holy day", especially a Christian holy day; unless of course, you want to claim that Halloween, Columbus Day, Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, New Years' Day, Kwanzaa, and "tax holidays", etc. are explicitly Christian festivals.

Don't you find it amusing, NMN, that the secular left, in trying to take the religion out of Christmas, did the exact opposite? Atheists are wishing people a "Holy Day." I find that hilarious.

Regardless, I say Merry Christmas all the time and no one cares. The "War on Christmas" is no different than the latest must see movie-opiate for the masses and entirely fictional.

Have you even looked up the etymology of "holiday"? It was "holy day" in the 14th century (1300's) but that was gone by the 16th century (1500's). I thought you were supposed to be all about "progress"?

Bottom line, you are asserting that all holidays are "Christian holy days" no matter how secular, pagan, or even anti-Christian they are. Once again you are demonstrating your total lack of discernment.

I wonder. Are there any other holidays where the name of the specific holiday is being replaced by "Happy Holiday"? Independence Day? President's Day? Halloween? Memorial Day? Something else?

Do businesses tell their employees they're not allowed to say "Happy New Year"? Why is "Merry Christmas" the only verboten speech if there's not an active attempt to suppress the "Christ" part?
