Would Jesus Discriminate?

Have you yet to learn that you need to VERIFY the facts of these pithy facebook grabs before posting them?

Sheesh.

Genesis 2:24, Ruth 1:14 Does not say anything about Ruth loving Naomi as Adam loved Eve....

Matthew 8:5-13 Does not affirm a gay couple....

II Samuel 1:26 Does not claim claim David loved Jonathan more than women....

Mathew 19:10-12 Does not say some are born gay.....

Acts 8:26-40 Does not say the church welcomed a gay man....

I was going to do that in more detail, with links and everything, but then figured, "What's the point?" Markadelphia would believe random made-up shit off Facebook that actually read the Bible. I'm not even a believer, and yet I have a better grounding than he does. M: "If the graphic I love disagrees with Scripture, then Scripture is wrong."

Then again, a detailed, objective non-snarky response would be good for any lurker. But I'll admit it's usually more fun to bash Markahalfwit with his own stupidity. God knows he deserves it: Luke 42:15-18.

Although the relationship between David and Jonathan may (or may not) imply more than deep personal friendship. I've known guys who were definitely non-gay who had much closer relationship in some ways with a friend who'd been together in combat for an extended period. That's a bond that can be totally non-sexual, and yet by some accounts, be the most fulfilling in some guys lives. Given that David was a warrior, that might've been true for him and Jonathan. Or it may have had a touch of Alexander and Hephaistion, which probably did have some homosexual elements.

Unless maybe Marksie wants to make a case that gay men are possessed by demons, or that Ethiopian eunuchs are gay. Do you want to do that, Marksie?

Yeah, but I've always thought that since David had all the people learn the lament in which the love for Jonathon is professed - I felt it was not a personal love but rather a deep brotherly love.

Matthew 19:10-12 (and one must read preceding verses for context -- i.e. he's talking about divorce, adultery, and celibacy. And in regard to celibacy (10-12), talks about eunuchs, both forced and, "eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He who is able to accept it, let him accept it.” Does that mean gays who can't maintain chasteness of their own free will should castrate themselves in order to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven?

What Jesus says about divorce -- is that also deleted from Markadelphia's own personal Bible?

And by Markadelphia, God better get his shit together!
