Getting Better

The National Center For Education Statistics released its 2013 report card and much to the dismay of right wing bloggers everywhere, it shows improved reading and math scores for both 4th and 8th graders. Granted, the improvement is small and there still is an obvious achievement gap issue (which, in the bubble, means "Who gives a fuck? They are all lazy") but it clearly shows that we are geed in the right direction.

For those of you who have trouble with the English language, that means not collapsing:)

Inside the bubble? Yes, you have quite the perspective on that. Probably bubbles inside of bubbles.

It'd be nice if you knew how to link the actual report instead of a general 'About' page, and not even one specifically about the report you mention. D'oh!

Your imagination continues to run riot with ludicrously delusional ideas about how 'right-wing bloggers' view this. In case you're wondering, fuckwit, I'll go ahead and tell you, even though I'm not a right-wing blogger. Hell, I'm not even "right-wing" except in your fevered imagination, and I can tell you what they think. They think it's marvelous if it's real progress, but at least they'll also have the brains enough to wonder if it's real progress or if the way this organization measures progress is both valid and not itself changing. Or if schools and teachers are getting better at gaming the system (or simply cheating, as has happened in Houston, Atlanta, and other places). Also, is it a real trend or is it just a temporary blip? But, assuming it's a good, statistically significant trend (and not actually levelling off after a period of larger gains), then 'right-wing bloggers' will be happy about it, asshole. Not ecstatic, because it's a very, Very small movement and a huge number of schools are still poorly serving their students, and at least they're not moving backwards.

Minnesota has no bragging rights in regard to achievement gaps, either. In fact, it's worse than a lot of the states you love to despise and disparage. I assume we'll be hearing no more of your "Michael Jordan generation" whinging, which is so obviously racist.
