Business As Usual?

Remember back after the Columbine shooting when the NRA showed up in Denver and thumped their chests?

Yeah, not gonna happen this time....

Some gun shows canceling after Conn. mass shooting.

Further...

Some of the most popular guns will be missing from next weekend's gun show in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., after show organizers agreed to bar the display and sale of AR-15 military-style semiautomatic weapons and their large-clip magazines.

Huh. I thought it was going to be business as usual if not more so after Sandy Hook.

You mean the "chest thumping" Michael Moore showed in "Bowling for Columbine"? In the "speech" where Charlton Heston's jacket, shirt, and tie—not to mention the backdrop—magically changed in the "middle" of his "speech"? That "chest thumping"?

It's an outright LIE!

Furthermore, it's a lie that has been pointed out to you many times over the past 5 years.

What specific "chest thumping" did the NRA do in Denver?

There was no background check that would've caught those guys - they bought their guns illegally. Is there some extra law that you suppose they wouldn't break?

Juris Imprudent said...

Oh, and what part of a background check would have stopped Nancy Lanza from buying the guns she did? You keep saying it could - so tell us how?

Hey M, remember all of your talk about how Obama wasn't interested in gun control, that he supported the RKBA? Remember how you said everyone that didn't believe you was just paranoid; while we said we would wait and see.

Look who was right all along.

I'm glad you linked that post, juris. You'll have more time to prepare your unreasonable comments and foam at the mouth as I will be talking about it in the next day or two.

As to your proclamation of being right, had the number of mass shootings hadn't happened (ending with Sandy Hook) nothing would've happened. The landscape has changed after Sandy Hook and the fact that you aren't moved by this and look for solutions says quite a bit.

So did you know you where lying all that time M, or were you just hoping you were?

So again, how would a background check have stopped Nancy Lanza from buying her guns? I will pester you until you answer - one way or another.

I have no way of predicting the future, juris. I know that in your paranoid world this was the plot all along. Perhaps you are buying into the Newton conspiracy theories now, eh?

Juris Imprudent said...

No changing the subject M, no deflecting and no weaseling. Just admit that you were wrong about that and there is nothing that could have been done.

It just kills you to honestly admit a mistake, doesn't it?

Mark, are you going to retract the "chest thumping" claim?

Juris Imprudent said...

I guess they must be chest thumping about how the background checks would have stopped Nancy Lanza from buying her guns.
