Another Incident With Alexis

It looks like Aaron Alexis has a real problem with guns (see: not mentally fit to own one). Ah well, 12 people are dead. Who cares? At least there are plenty of other mentally unhealthy people that have their 2nd amendment rights protected by 12 year olds with massive insecurity complexes.

Seems your all holy government has failed here.

Why don't you point your finger in the right direction. Or does criticism of the government equate to pathological hatred?

He was booked into the King County Jail for malicious mischief on June 3, 2004.

But not prosecuted. I think GD must be right - you have suddenly developed a pathological hatred for all govt.

Oh shit, this will really make M hate the govt - Alexis had a security clearance. That involves a bit more of a background check than anything EVER proposed just to buy a gun!

An unnecessary reminder about initial media reports concerning the Navy Yard shootings

Don’t believe anything you read in papers, on the Internet or hear on TV. Just wait a bit.

That's excellent advice. There's always a great deal of confusion and misinformation after a major incident like this. Not that Mark cares about accurate information, or waiting to dance of the graves of the victims.

So now there are three versions of the story: 1) Alexis arrived with an AR-15, a shotgun and a handgun. 2) He arrived with a shotgun but obtained the “assault-style rifle” and handgun on site. 3) He didn’t use an AR-15 at all, but rather had a shotgun and two handguns.

EDITORIAL: End Clinton-era military base gun ban

Among President Clinton’s first acts upon taking office in 1993 was to disarm U.S. soldiers on military bases. In March 1993, the Army imposed regulations forbidding military personnel from carrying their personal firearms and making it almost impossible for commanders to issue firearms to soldiers in the U.S. for personal protection. For the most part, only military police regularly carry firearms on base, and their presence is stretched thin by high demand for MPs in war zones.

Because of Mr. Clinton, terrorists would face more return fire if they attacked a Texas Wal-Mart than the gunman faced at Fort Hood, home of the heavily armed and feared 1st Cavalry Division. That’s why a civilian policewoman from off base was the one whose marksmanship ended Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan’s rampage.

The same dynamic was apparently in play here. Several of the people shot yesterday were police officers who were engaging, and eventually killed, the shooter. Not base personnel, police. Why? The base personnel were apparently disarmed by this same idiotic "if we disarm the law abiding, they will be safe" policy.
