China Caves

The excuse "China does whatever it wants in terms of carbon emissions so why can't we?" can no longer be used.

The plan, released by the State Council, China’s cabinet, filled in a broad outline that the government had issued this year. It represents the most concrete response yet by the Communist Party and the government to growing criticism over allowing the country’s air, soil and water to degrade to abysmal levels because of corruption and unchecked economic growth.

It's only a matter of time now before the rest of the world realizes how bad climate change due to carbon emissions is for economic stability.

'Climate Change' isn't what is driving this. They have SEVERE pollution issues that became an embarrassment politically worldwide during the Olympics. That pollution is the subject of both internal and external pressure, not 'Climate Change'.

More proof, as if any is needed, that Markadaffiya doesn't read his own links, or his reading comprehension approaches that of a moggie on a catnip binge. The sole mention of "climate" was in the description of the background of a Chinese activist who points out how limited this new plan is.

Sigh. You can lead a jackass to literature, but you can't make it read it. Whereas the jackass has led us to it, and we did read it, and actually understood what it was about. It's a good step for China to take, all right, but the article also points out that they already have some pretty stringent regulations on the book. They're just not enforced. So of course Markaderpia thinks passing more regulations is a step forward...
