Though the numbers are trending downward, they are still far too high for this day and age. No doubt, this is true for both parties. I think the flatline for the Democrats likely represents the age cohort in which my father in law belongs.
Yet it still is important to note that there still are more Republicans than Democrats who opposed interracial marriage. Again, I think this is due to older people simply being more conservative than liberal as well as more conservatives being from the South.

What ought to be as interesting to you is the percentage of black parents who don't want their children dating whites. It's not any easier from the 'black' side than it is from the 'white' side, and that's speaking from personal experience. Black racism is every bit as prevalent as white racism. For that matter, Chinese racism or Filipino racism is just as prevalent. It's part of the human condition, and the USA suffers from it less than many/most other countries, at least in my experience.

Friends' in (inter-racial marriages) experiences. My own experience. However, I'm older, so that probably skews things somewhat. Or are you one of those numbskulls that think that unless you're part of the power elite's race, you can't really be racist?
