Simply Let Them Speak

From a letter to my local newspaper...

The Jan. 27 editorial “As the Midwest warms, economy will suffer” is the 2015 version of a sky-is-falling progressive scare. We have seen it all before. In the 1970s, it was the “population bomb,” then the coming of a new ice age — both wrong. The next iteration was Al Gore’s “Inconvenient Truth,” complete with a dramatic hockey-stick graph of temperature rise. Undaunted by being totally wrong, progressives revised the global-warming mantra using the meaningless term “climate change.” Since climate changes from day to day, week to week, month to month and year to year, this latest scare tactic to save Minnesota, the United States and the world is guaranteed to require more government with higher taxes to support a big new bureaucracy with big new programs. The inconvenient truth is that this is but another boondoggle in a long history of progressive, tax-and-spend, save-the-world ideas.

Wow....

Shocked that Mid-western common sense still exists?

Still On Board The Zimmerman Train?

Quoteth here:

Marksawrongagain: "Don't you think it's time you admitted you were wrong about him?"

Moi: "After successfully defending his life, he then successfully defended it in court as well."

Fact. Found to be so via jury trial.

Moi: "that's not good enough for some people and his every action since has been under scrutiny."

Fact. Point one of so being Mark's continuing obsession of him.

Moi: "Also unfortunately he seems to have very poor skills in choosing female companionship."

Hmmm. Fact: George Zimmerman Again Slandered

George Zimmerman has a clean criminal record, and will get all his guns back now that charges have been dropped. He has no “Violent History”, he has one instance of justifiable self defense where he unfortunately needed to kill his attacker, and several trumped-up charges that were dropped due to lack of evidence.

George, change your name, move out west into the country, get involved in a local Church, and as much as feminine companionship might seem like a comfort to you, you don’t have good taste in women, and I’d say you probably should stay clear of them until you figure out why that is.

I think you should stick with the "George Zimmerman is a victim" dealio, GD. It's a winner!

Something you should understand Mark...

A: Quit twisting my words. Didn't say that.

B: In order to present a trial defence of self-defence Zimmerman HAD to prove that a reasonable person in his position would have believed themself to be a victim. The jury believed that defence. The jury, the court and the legal system have found Zimmerman to be the victim. You are barking into the wind to argue otherwise.

C: I notice you haven't addressed this latest example of you jumping to conclusions without adequate proof.

You know what scares me most about this country? The idea that people like you could ever be on a jury. You have demonstrated repeatedly that you are simple not capable of rational decision making.

He's a guy that tragically tried to do the right thing and found himself under attack and had to defend his life. If that wasn't bad enough, doing so pissed off a lot of people with ulterior motives and/or lack of critical thinking skills.

After successfully defending his life, he then successfully defended it in court as well.

Unfortunately that's not good enough for some people and his every action since has been under scrutiny. Also unfortunately he seems to have very poor skills in choosing female companionship.

Oh, and yes, a jury did find him to be the victim - you are the one whose thinking is contrary to established fact.

You're right, GD. How could I have possibly thought that? :)

Usually it just depresses me realizing that M has a vote just like anyone else. Congrats GD - you just took it to a new level.

Your welcome juris, glad I could brighten your day.

Reading comprehension test Markadoofus:

Are these two sentences exactly alike, somewhat alike, somewhat dis-alike or completely dis-alike:

A: George was a victim of a crime.

B: George is a victim.

Follow up - Does one sentence connote a specific incident while the other implies overall victim-hood?

What you've done is twist a statement of a specific incident into an accusation of claiming overall victim-hood.

I also note that you've completely ignored EVERY OTHER point made there.

Did or did not a jury find that Zimmerman was a victim?

Are you going to address your slander?

Pedantic and semantical games juxtaposed with fallacy yet again. I do like the Joan Collins like drama, though:) I'll get back to when I'm done beating my wife.

Dodging and ignoring valid questions because you don't like the answers? Juvenile.

"Pedantic and semantical games." Is "Mark Harris" a sock-puppet of "Mark Ward" or are both sock-puppets of well-known sock-puppeteer Markadelphia?
