Deep Inside The Bubble

To give you an idea of how incredibly fictional the world is that the Right has created, take a look at this.

It is illegal for private citizens to own guns for selfdefense in eight states, and the number is growing with increasing Democratic control of state legislatures and governorships.

The excerpt above is from a letter sent "back in time" from 2012 to 2008 letting all the folks know exactly what would happen in the president's first term. Here are some other predictions..

then in May 2010, Al-Qaida operatives from Syria and Iran poured into Iraq and completely overwhelmed the Iraqi security forces. A Taliban-like oppression has taken over in Iraq, and hundreds of thousands of “American sympathizers” have been labeled as traitors, imprisoned, tortured, and killed. The number put to death may soon reach the millions.

Since 2009, terrorist bombs have exploded in two large and two small U.S. cities, killing hundreds, and the entire country is fearful, for no place seems safe. President Obama in each case has vowed “to pursue and arrest and prosecute those responsible,” but no arrests have been made.

President Obama directed U.S. intelligence services to cease all wiretapping of alleged terrorist phone calls unless they first obtained a warrant for each case. Terrorists captured overseas, instead of being tried in military tribunals, are given full trials in the U.S. court system, and they have to be allowed access to a number of government secrets to prepare their defense.

What a strange world they live in...it's almost as if they are unmoved by facts, undeterred by new information, and have a hostile fear of progress..hmm...

I wonder how many of these predictions will simply be carried over to 2016. Oh wait, didn't they make a film about that? That would be the one where the companion book says the following...

Ann's sexual adventuring may seem a little surprising in view of the fact that she was a large woman who kept getting larger.

And they wonder why they are losing this election...

You get your panties in a bunch over a worst case 'what if' letter? No wonder people think you are a dolt!

Why don't you address some real issues instead of a fictional account of what-ifs. Geez, you are desperate.

Bwahahahahahahaha - instead of carried on and furthered the Bush program of un-Constitutional domestic spying, and barely anything was heard from the left in dissent!

I think it's more complicated than that, juris. Democrats don't have a problem with wiretapping...as long its done on Al Qaeda and not members of their own party. It also has to be handled by someone who is competent and trustworthy which means not George Bush and Dick Cheney.

But you're missing the point of the comment you highlighted. Why is that a an organization that bemoans big government wants more of it when it comes to stuff like this? Why haven't they given the president credit and admitted their prediction was wrong?

It wasn't when Bush was President. I think the only complication is that you are such a total partisan hack. Why aren't you ever honest, even with just yourself, about that?

You see, you are just the mirror image of those you are criticizing in your post. That was the point of my comment - but dumbass fanboi's can't think that deep.

These conversations in which I try to "prove myself" to you are quite tiresome. You're a smart guy and can easily figure out the complexities in these sorts of situations.

You're also not acknowledging how pissed the left is at Obama right now. I'm talking about the professional left and the folks that yell at me on a daily basis about how Obama is the same as Bush and Romney. I'm nearly certain you know people like this in California, for pete's sake.

Bush would have been an alright president if he had paid attention to the intelligence reports before 9-11, not been obsessed with Iraq, not invaded Iraq, paid more attention to Al Qaeda, not stacked his government with cronies who couldn't do the job (e.g Brownie and FEMA), and not fallen asleep with the financial sector. You can add debt and deficit (caused by the tax cuts, funding for both wars, and Medicare D) as well.

What I find to be a complexity has nothing to do with the party label attached to the motherfuckers in charge. That is where you and I are quite different.

You're also not acknowledging how pissed the left is at Obama right now.

Precious fucking few, and you are not amongst them. Sadly far more of my "liberal" friends are just like you - an unabashed apologist for the asshole incumbent.
