A Sunday Reflection

Today, I'm wondering how so many of the conservative Christians out there have no problem whatsoever with Mitt Romney being a Mormon. Personally, I could care less what or how he worships but my friends on the Right have assured me many times that Christian purity is of paramount importance in whichever candidate they choose.

After all, most believe that Barack Obama isn't really a Christian and is a secret Muslim. Or they think he is an agent of the Black Militia. Either way, his religion is questioned constantly yet Mitt Romey's faith is never questioned. Why is that?

Why do none of these folks have a problem with the fact that Mitt Romney thinks that God is a six foot tall man who lives on or near the planet Kolob?

Who says conservative Christians don't have a problem with Romney's Mormanism? (The Voices in Your Head™ perhaps?) But last time I checked, we were planning to elect a President, not a Pastor.

As for Obama's claims to be a Christian, again, it's comparing his beliefs to the definition of being a Christian. That definition comes from the Bible. When you compare the Bible's core doctrines (God, heaven, hell, salvation, etc.) to Obama's own definition of what he thinks Christianity is, they do not match up. And what Obama describes as "the most beautiful sound in the world" is the Muslim equivalent of "Jesus is Lord" (1Cor. 12:3) or "Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the bLORD is one!" (Deut. 6:4) Under Muslim theology, anyone who says that proclamation (I forget exactly what it's called) is considered to be a Muslim.

Then there are actions like refusing to participate in the National Day of Prayer (a Christian event), but fully embracing Ramadan (a Muslim holiday).

These don't prove that Obama is a Muslim, but actions certainly speak louder than words.

Ah... red meat for the comment -challenged blog. Short, full of inaccuracies, and almost begging to be refuted on silliness.

Note the dangling low fruit:

"My friends on the right"

Umm... yeah. Friends is enough of a stretch. Funny how you never invent gay, black friends.

"purity is of paramount importance"

Yeah, that is the headline on every KKK voting guide that I'VE seen.

"most believe... secret Muslim"

Most do? Really?

It's kind of sad really. Can't you go back to gun control, or maybe global warming?

p.s. "I could care less". I think you meant that you "could NOT care less". Just saying.

Do you really not notice how that question is attempting to compare apples to oranges?
